CELEBRATING THE WOMEN MAKERS OF BAJA CALIFORNIA’S CULINARY WINE MOVEMENT AT RANCHO LA PUERTA’S LA COCINA QUE CANTA WITH CHEF DENISE ROA (FULL DAY EVENT)

Enjoy a full day of gourmet dining, wine tasting, and specially curated culinary workshops at one of the world’s most famous and exclusive wellness spas, Rancho La Puerta (this event will be at La Cocina Que Canta culinary center and gardens on the Ranch), with co-hosts Edible San Diego and Baja Test Kitchen!   • 8:15-9:30am - Drive to The Border Crossing Station at Tecate

  • 9:30-10:00am - Cross the Border in Tecate and Drive to Rancho La Puerta's La Cocina Que Canta Restaurant (assisted border crossing included with transportation)

  • 10:00-10:30am - Welcome Orientation at La Cocina Que Canta

  • 10:30-11:30am - Breakfast Buffet with Selection of Juices, Coffee, and Teas

  • 11:30-1:30pm - Educational Workshops

    • Garden Tour with Chef Denise Roa - explaining the three R’s (REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE), the importance of LIVING SOIL, and the importance of Vermicomposting

ABOUT CHEF DENISE ROA

Executive Chef Denise Roa’s cuisine celebrates taste, vibrant colors, and the aliveness of the freshest seasonal ingredients possible. Her farm-to-table meals, usually inspired by a morning walk through the 6-acre organic farm just outside her door, are carefully prepared aesthetic triumphs—simultaneously rustic yet complex in their flavors, as well as being eminently healthy and satisfying for the body, mind, and spirit. Chef Denise’s culinary career includes studying Culinary Arts at the world-renowned Johnson & Wales University in Miami, and holding positions at some of San Diego’s best known and respected restaurants, including Pacifica Del Mar, Crescent Shores Grille, Del Mar Racetrack Turf Club, and her own restaurant, La Trattoria. Her recipes have been featured in People Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, San Diego TV stations, and other media outlets.
